Attention North Carolina ASHRM members!
Message from the President Elect and Past President
June 1, 2020
Dear NCASHRM Members:
On behalf of the NCASHRM Board of Directors, I hope that each of you are safe and healthy as we continue to face this public health crisis together. Our healthcare systems have been tested in recent months by the Covid-19 crisis. It has created challenges for both the human and financial resources of our healthcare industry. NCASHRM remains committed to the safety of our membership and our organization’s mission “to provide health care risk managers with the resources, knowledge and support to strategically and broadly manage risk, reduce uncertainty, add value, and advance the safe practice of healthcare”. The impact of Covid-19 on our ability to attend in-person conferences through the remainder of the year, is anticipated to impact our ability to support a Fall conference. Based on the contractual considerations of planning such a large event, our Board is obligated to make an early determination regarding cancellation in order to avoid the incurrence of financial penalties from our vendors. As stewards of our mission and in consideration of our fiscal responsibility to our membership and sponsors, we have made the decision to cancel our Fall conference.
In order to support our mission as a resource to our membership, the Professional Development Committee and Program Committee are developing a series of one hour webinars, to provide continued educational support during this difficult time. With the support of our sponsors and members, registration fees will be waived for the webinars. ASHRM credits are being sought for each webinar in the series. It is our intent to provide one hour of educational credit each month June-November, for our members. While we will miss seeing each of you in the Fall. We hope that this provides some support to our Chapter during these difficult times. We appreciate the continued support of our sponsors and their partnership in providing these opportunities to you. As the webinars become available the invite to participate will be emailed to the membership and also posted on our website at: www.nc-ashrm.org/education-events/.
For questions regarding these education opportunities, or to suggest potential webinar speakers or topics, please contact: Katrina Jackson, Program Chair and President Elect (Katrina.Jackson@conehealth.com) or Janna Bennett, Professional Development Chair and NCASHRM Board Member (Janna.firstname.lastname@example.org).

Recognition of 2020 Professional Accomplishments
On behalf of the NC ASHRM Board and Professional Development Committee, I again share my regrets that we have not been able to hold in person conferences during 2020.
This has also not allowed us to recognize your professional accomplishments. Our membership is very active and continues to make many professional strides, even during the pandemic. We don’t want to delay any longer in acknowledging your professional successes.
Please email any professional accomplishments you have attained since our fall 2019 conference to Janna.Bennett@cna.com by October 1st, 2020.
We will be sending a summary of accomplishments out to our membership and also posting to the www.nc-ashrm.org website.
