Dear Member:
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the North
Carolina Chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management
and the Chapter website. What started as
a vision by a small group of dedicated risk management professionals
some thirty-one years ago has developed into a Chapter that serves
as a model for other ASHRM state chapters. The Chapter continues
to grow each year and is committed to providing education and support
for its members.
Our members are the strength of our organization. Our membership
is comprised of facilities, insurance and legal professionals.
Networking is a powerful tool and I encourage you to seek out the
expertise of your fellow members when faced with challenges and
new learning opportunities.
The healthcare environment is ever-changing and so are the risk
issues, challenges and trends faced by our members. We strive to
help our members stay abreast of these changes by providing state-of-the
art speakers, relevant topics and resources you can implement and
share in your workplace. We hope you find your membership to be
a valuable resource in your professional growth and development.
The Chapter offers two educational programs each year with CPHRM
credit hours as well as CLE credits. We seek and utilize your evaluations
and comments at each meeting to strengthen and improve our educational
offerings. Along with education, membership in NC ASHRM provides
networking opportunities for the new as well as seasoned risk management
professionals across the state of North Carolina.
To stay abreast of all NC ASHRM “happenings”, we encourage you

current information regarding educational meetings, job opportunities,
and professional accomplishments by your peers. We encourage you
to give us feedback on what we can do improve our website and communication.
As we look back on the past thirty-one years and forward to many
more successful years as an organization, I would like to extend
an invitation to you to become an active participant in the Chapter.
